• 100% Cotton: Highly breathable and comfortable for long shifts; naturally resists melting, making it safer for light sparks than pure synthetics.
• Polycotton (65% Poly / 35% Cotton): Combines the durability and wrinkle-resistance of polyester with the comfort of cotton. It is ideal for heavy-duty mechanical work.
• Flame Retardant (FR): Treated with chemicals (like Pyrovatex) or made from inherent fibers (like Nomex) to self-extinguish when exposed to flames.
• High-Visibility (Hi-Viz): Fluorescent fabrics with retroreflective tapes (usually 1" or 2" wide) for low-light or roadside safety. 

• Reflective Tapes: 1-inch or 2-inch-wide 3M Scotch lite™ or equivalent retroreflective tapes on shoulders, arms, and legs for 360-degree visibility.
• Reinforced Knees: Double-layered fabric at the knees (sometimes with pockets for knee pads) for workers who spend time kneeling.
• Point of Attachment: Integrated loops for radio mics or gas detectors on the upper chest. 
• Elasticated Waist: An internal elastic band at the back to provide a snug fit while allowing the wearer to bend and stretch without the suit "riding up."
• Action Back: Extra fabric pleats at the shoulders to ensure a full range of arm motion during overhead work. 

• Closure Systems:
  • Main Closure: Typically features a heavy-duty two-way concealed brass or nylon zipper or high-quality snap buttons.
  • Storm Flap: A fabric layer covering the zipper to prevent dust ingress or mechanical interference. 

• Pocket Configuration: Usually includes 6 to 8 utility pockets:
  • Two chest pockets (often with zip or flap closure).
  • Two side swing pockets with pass-through access to inner clothing.
  • Two rear patch pockets.
  • One dedicated rule pocket or tool loop on the thigh.
